DEL MAR — Tom Knust represents jockey Pat Valenzuela, and he was just as bewildered as the jockey about a promotional ad for the jockey that ran in Saturday and Sunday’s Daily Racing Form.

The ad read: “ATTENTION OWNERS AND TRAINERS I’m a 40 year rounder! Are all of you BLIND and losing your knowledge of horse racing? I know you want to win every horse you send to post! Why would you use good jockeys when you can use one of the greatest jockeys of all time and still the smartest and best rider in California to this day? He is sitting in the jocks room when he could be riding your horse to the winner’s circle! He is always in perfect position and has the strongest right handed whip in the business! Smarten up owners and trainers – open your eyes and you will find Patrick Valenzuela in the jocks room waiting to ride your horse and meet you in the winner’s circle!!”
