If the forecast is correct, Saturday’s Belmont Stakes (gr. I) could be run over a wet track, a factor that will be considered by many handicappers.
One day after racing was canceled June 9 at Belmont Park—with the high temperature reaching 92 degrees—the National Weather Service was forecasting a 60% chance of rain the night of June 10, with showers and a few thunderstorms.
