Zayat Stable’s Nehro has been ruled out of Saturday’s Preakness Stakes (G1) and the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) runner-up will instead be pointed to the Belmont Stakes (G1).
After serious deliberation, owner Ahmed Zayat elected to skip the Preakness rather than have the Mineshaft colt race for a fourth time in eight weeks. Nehro also finished second in the Louisiana Derby (G2) on March 26 and Arkansas Derby (G2) on April 16.
