Racing Commissioners International want furosemide (aka Salix or Lasix) on race day banned in five years. Rep. Ed Whitfield from Kentucky and Sen. Tom Udall from New Mexico have introduced federal legislation to end the use of performance-enhancing drugs in horse racing.
