Hollywood Park announced this week it will remain open for training until July 22, or until renovation of Santa Anita’s main track is completed.
“We’re happy Hollywood Park decided to stay open,” said Tom Robbins, Del Mar’s executive vice president/racing, on Friday. “We just don’t want any interruption of training for horses (in the Los Angeles area).” Del Mar was worried about horses not being able to work for its meet, which will open on July 20.
