Compared to the 2010 Elite Summer Meet that was billed as offering $50-million over 50 days, Monmouth Park will look a lot more like 2009 with the start of a new meet on Saturday that is clouded with ongoing negotiations for a new racetrack operator.
Monmouth will distribute $471,000 in the 11-race card that attracted 82 entries (7.45 per race), topped by the $75,000 Decathlon Stakes for older males at six furlongs.
