CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gambling money, mostly from slot machines, props up the dog and horse racing industry, which likely would wither without subsidies.
The West Virginia Racing Commission is preparing to send its multi-million dollar payment next week to the state’s thoroughbred horse breeders and owners.
