From The Thoroughbred Times:

Artist Lesley Humphrey called painting the official artwork for next year’s Kentucky Derby (G1) and Kentucky Oaks (G1) an honor on par with meeting Queen Elizabeth II.

Churchill Downs commissioned the Texas resident to paint separate pieces of art for Thoroughbred racing’s two most attended events.

The Derby piece is entitled “Victory” and, according to a Churchill press release, features “a dappled gray horse of majestic stature. The jubilant jockey is fierce in his winning expression.” For the rest of the article: http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/national-news/2010/november/17/kentucky-derby-oaks-churchill-art.aspx
