George Haines has had a lot to deal with during his first go-around as president of Santa Anita, including some wet weather, a players' boycott, the inconsistencies of a new dirt racing surface and some numbers that aren't very pretty.

According to figures taken from Equibase, Santa Anita's total handle was down $77.1 million, or 17.7 percent, from a year ago heading into Wednesday's card. If the current trend continues, the track's all-sources handle could show a decline of more than $100 million for the 2010-11 meet
