The National Handicapping Championship will return to the Las Vegas Strip at least for the next two years, as the National Thoroughbred Racing Association reached an agreement with Treasure Island to play host to the event in 2012 and 2013.

The move to Treasure Island coincides with an expected largest purse ever for the event, expected to be worth $2-million overall with $1-million for the winner. The event could attract 500 players, up from 301 at the 2011 NHC at Red Rocks. (sic)
